Potty Training

So, I've been busy the last couple days potty training my almost 3 year old. Oh yes...it's FINALLY happening. After two previous attempts, this time is the time. If it takes 3 months another diaper will never touch that child's bottom. Except perhaps if he ends up being a chronic bed wetter when he's in school. And after that...I'll have no control.

So what's changed besides the fact that he's almost 3 and I just can't stand to clean another poopy diaper bum of his? A friend lent me an easy how-to guide that works pretty well. It's very similar to my previous attempts...but with a few tweaks. And somehow this time, I'm much, much calmer about the whole process. The website for the guide is here. Some very good advice. I'd say worth the $17.00 she's asking if you're feeling lost about the whole process...like I was.

I've found potty training one of the most challenging things as a parent. That and sibling rivalry have challenged me the most so far. My husband trained our first son. I just couldn't get the hang of it. I'm glad our third is a girl. I'm hoping that might help.

Anyhow...it's going pretty well. Can't complain too much. Not there yet and won't think that until we've had at least a couple incident free weeks. But for now...it's manageable and I have yet to do any emotional eating over it.
