Uncharted Territory

The other night, I went through the chest at the foot of my bed.

Since we got it 5 years ago, it has served as the storage area for the clothes that don't quite fit. First in were my "skinny" clothes when I gained 30 pounds. Then my medium skinny clothes when they stopped fitting after I got pregnant with Will. Then I added my maternity clothes after he was born. The skinny clothes of course stayed in there because there was no way they were going on any time soon. The larger of my medium skinny clothes came out again after I lost the 40 lbs with Will and in went my biggest clothes. You get the picture. This has gone on for the last 6 years.

I went through my chest last night and pulled out all my "skinny" clothes. Even the ones I was never able to wear because I bought them just as I was gaining those 30 lbs. Every single item fit. Oh yes they did. Most of them look terrible because the styles are old and really don't suit me, but they all do up and not one pair of pants creates a muffin top.

I'm within 10 lbs of my very lightest weight ever. Of course that's just an estimate because our last scale was horribly unreliable. But that said, I'm wearing my skinny jeans today. The ones my mom bought me once because we were broke and I was wearing clothes 4 sizes too big. It feels great, even if there is no stretch in them. I don't think they look that great, but they don't look horrible either. Here's a picture I took with the help of the timer on my camera just a couple minutes ago.

The poor little chest is almost empty now. Only maternity clothes left because I decided not to keep my bigger clothes. My husband wants me to get rid of the maternity clothes too. I'm not quite ready to do that yet, but he had a point. If I did get pregnant again, I'd need a different size anyways. Maybe I'll keep my favorite stuff and give away the rest.

So, I'm venturing into uncharted territory. New clothing sizes and no more clothes to pull out of the chest. Before I know it, I'll be smaller than I've been in my entire adolescent and adult life.

Since it's warming up here and I haven't been wearing jackets to drop Will off at school, I've been asked twice this week if I'm on a diet. That makes me smile. I guess the difference is really starting to show.

I've been SO HUNGRY lately though. Hungry, hungry, hungry. I could eat everything in sight. I think I need to concentrate on eating better and get back on the treadmill to earn myself some AP's. I haven't been on it all week. 25 daily points goes by fast and the 35 flex points go even faster.

And just so you don't think that EVERYTHING in my life is about my weight and my 'diet', I'm still counting down to Finleigh's MRI. 9 days! 9 days to go.

  2. Oh I'm so happy for you - that's super exciting that you fit them all - and you look so good!
I, on the other hand, went looking through my boxes of clothes today in desperation because I have nothing that currently fits. OH, I've had lots that fit in the past, but when I lost my weight I got rid of everything, and so now -I have nothing this size. :o( So, I went to Wal-Mart and bought 2 shirts just so I'll have something to get me through. The biggest stuff I kept was size 12 and I have a way to go to get there yet. Boo.
okay, that comment turned into a novel- sorry.
Anyway, CONGRATS again - you really look awesome! I can't belive people are only just now starting to notice!!

  3. So exciting! You look amazing!!! When I did WW before I got preg with James, when I started feeling hungry all of the time and having a hard time making my points last all day...my WW leader suggested that I give the core program a try. If you don't want to do that, then look at everything you are eating and try to eat as many core foods as possible! You can do it! You have to....I need an example to follow! :-) I linked you again today.
