Home Sweet Home

Well, we're home. Actually, we've been home for a couple of days, but with the fog I seemed to be in our first day back (so glad Brian was still off) and the having to share this computer with the 3 guys in my life, I haven't had much time to blog. Or catch up on my blog reading. And really, I've only been able to string together enough words to update my FB status...and that's about it. And those were mostly about coffee.

But here I am. It was nice to get back into routine today. Vacation was fun. Seeing family was even funner (and yes, I know that's not a word). However, we spent a good portion of the trip sick. We all took our turns throwing up and then proceeded to spread it to over half of the rest of the extended family. It was not cool. I felt bad - both for bringing the bug and how I felt from having it. And the worst part was poor little Finleigh. She was the first one to get it and still had it after all of us had recovered. We were beginning to think medical intervention might be needed after a week, but with an extra effort of making sure she got her sleep and many dollars worth of Pedialite, we muddled through. We couldn't take her anywhere because everywhere we went...she threw up. My dear sweet girl doesn't seem to handle change well.

And lest I forget, our pesky DVD player worked for all of 4 hours total during our 36 or so hours of highway driving. And that was with getting it fixed halfway through the trip. Sigh. The kids did great, but still. Yeesh. Not even a year after this incident. It's the principle of the matter I tell you. At least the van still runs fine.

Now, some picture highlights from our time traveling to BC.

  2. Why is it that sickness always seems to coinside with holidays?? (us too, this past week anyway). AND I hear ya about the DVD player - ours died several months ago, and we ended up buying a new one for way too much money before this holiday we're on - cuz the past few months without one have been awful!
I'm glad you guys had some fun - and I'm also very glad you're back!
