Royale Reno-cation

Having just come back from a trip with my husband and still living in a kitchen that is less than a year old, I should probably be content.  That doesn't mean that I wouldn't enjoy winning Royal's Reno-cation contest.

The Grand prize includes $13,000 to spend on a home renovation in any way the winner chooses AND an 11-day, $7,000 Royal Caribbean cruise for two on the “Jewel of the Seas.”  An additional $5,000 in prizes will be given away to secondary winners in the form of 15 weekly prize packs from the Royale Luxury Bath Collection that include a personal heated towel rack, new luxurious towels, and premium Royale robes.

I could gladly take $13,000 to finish off the odds and ends that aren't done yet in my house, like my sadly mismatched bedroom, the 30 year old yellowing plastic closet doors and maybe even spring to replace our poorly laid and aging floors.  And never would I ever turn down a vacation in the sun...I wouldn't really even care where it would be.

Go here if you'd like to enter.

As part of participating in a Mom Central Canada blog campaign, I get to do my own mini giveaway too.  The folks at Royal will provide a $50 Cara Restaurant gift card, accepted at Swiss Chalet, Montana’s, Milestones, Kelsey’s and Harvey’s, as well as a $50 Home Hardware gift card.  It's not a vacation and a new room, but hey, it's a night out.  Cuz you know, for us old married couples, dinner and a browse around a hardware store without the kids is about as romantic as it gets.

Enter my contest by telling me what your ultimate "reno-cation" would be.  Where would you go and what room would you want to change?  Remember that you don't have to be a blogger to enter, just leave me an anonymous comment and leave me a way to get back to you if you win, which I'll decide randomly on April 27th.  Won't that be fun?  Canadians only.

That's two contests to enter.  Good luck to all!

This giveaway is now closed.  Random.org #33.  Congratulations Roswell.

  1. I can't say what I would renovate, because I know that we will be moving soon. But someday I would love to do a big kitchen reno, or a big bathroom reno (with a jacuzzi for 2). And I would travel anywhere tropical while it's taking place!!

  2. You know what? I would totally go for the $15000 check and use it as a down payment for a house of our own. But if it had to be a renovation I would build a garage. We need one. And I have GOT to go on a cruise someday. :)

As for the room in my house. I think I would start with the kitchen for sure. It is greatly needed. It is really horrible.

  8. mmmm Santorini ...
Our trip would be a toss up between a mediteranian cruise with hubby or a trip to disney with kids & 3 grandkiddies. We just renovated our kitchen... so would probably take the $$$ and buy new furniture or work on some landscaping.

  10. I would definitely get rid of our blue/pink kitchen with all the oak cupboards. My worst part of the kitchen - the floors! I hate cleaning them and seeing the pattern every time I walk into the room. It would take about 13000 or more to re-do it for sure!
I would go to somewhere in the Bahamas!

As to where I'd go, my favourite place on earth is Hawaii.

  13. I really badly want to take a trip to Italy with my son & husband.

For a renovation, I would fix up our spare bedroom to make it my baby's own room. It needs furniture pretty badly.

  41. I'd makeover the backyard. We need a new deck.

So many choices for a trip - probably travel to and train around Europe.

  42. I would have the outside of our house and garge resided and possibly the fence repainted as well. And if there was any extra money, I'd get our lawn re-seeded since its so nastily patchy. And for a getaway - anywhere scuba diving! (Preferably the Caman Islands or something...) :o)

  43. My list of priorities includes:
-a second full bath in our basement
-dry-walling and painting in our rec room
-new carpet in both our main floor bedrooms
-new carpet in our basement (rec-room and 3rd bedroom)
-a new front door (does this count as a renovation?) :D
    -a new fence
    Edit
I just remembered another two items on my reno-cation wishlist:
-new kitchen appliances (specifically a range and a new refrigerator)
    -a new countertop

I'd also love to put some money towards our upcoming honeymoon (right now we are considering a cruise)
