Conversations in my house... or... My boys are different

A conversation that just happened as I was sitting here with Brian and Will:

Willem was flying his paper airplane around the house.

"Why does the plane do that?" asks Brian as the plane takes a nosedive to the ground.

"It has a negative dihedral." says Willem, completely matter-of-factly.

"What's that?"

"It's engineer speak for wing angle." explains my blue eyed, blond haired 7 year old.

I've never heard of a dihedral.  So, I googled it.  He was right.  Where the heck does he get this stuff?  I'm not sure I'll ever get used to being surprised by what he knows.

But wait!  I'm not done.  Conversation at supper last night with me and my boys.

Nate:  Mom?  Why are there only 6 episodes of Star Wars?

Me:  Uhm, I don't know, Natey.  I guess that's just how many it took to tell the Star Wars story.

Nate:  Oh, so it was what George Lucas wanted.

Me:  You know who George Lucas is?

Willem:  Who's George Lucas?

Nate:  He made Star Wars.

This is the question I have.  How the heck does Nate know who George Lucas is?  We didn't tell him.  So when Brian asked him this morning, this was his answer:

"God whispered it in my ear.  He knows everything."

Huh.  I didn't know God was a trivia buff.  I mean, I know God is omniscient and all, but really?

Not to be outdone... Miss Finn managed to pull her dresser down the other day.

I was downstairs while she was in her bedroom and all of a sudden I heard this huge crash.  I went running upstairs and there was my daughter smiling up at me with the dresser tipped forward onto the floor.  How she managed to 1) get it down and 2) not get crushed under it, I'll never know.  This child has a guardian angel, that's all I know.  We have child locks on her dresser drawers so she can't open them and climb up and we've emptied her room of almost all climbable items, but apparently that's not enough.  So now, we need to attach her dresser to the wall... really well.

Talent everywhere in my house friends.  Talent everywhere.
