It's almost done. The kitchen has officially been renovated. We still need blinds...and cushions...and baskets...and something for the wall. But the real work is done. Everything else is just details.
Lest we forget what the old kitchen looked like, here's the link for the old kitchen post.
And now, walk with me as I tour you through my newly appointed kitchen. Thanks to my sister who took these lovely shots for me. Here I am, unloading my dishwasher. I have a dishwasher, friends! I have a dishwasher! I haven't had one for, uhm, almost 3 years and it has changed my life. I am not exaggerating either. I love modern conveniences.
Now, have a seat and join me for a steaming mug of coffee or perhaps a perfectly brewed cup of tea. I would love to sit and visit with you...
My husband did all the painting, the back splash, the floor. He put up the cabinets, did the plumbing, attached the handles and adjusted the doors (both very finicky jobs). He's a very handy guy. But let it be known, my friends, that I assembled every one of those Ikea cabinets by myself in the midst of making sure my 3 children stayed fed and entertained. Yes I did.
This pantry, was a wasted space before. Now I can fit ALL my food in it. I love it. I hate my fridge, but I love my pantry. I'll take it.
It's really great!
